Glasson Stone Lodge is an impressive house newly built from Irish limestone which blends well with the old 18th century houses in the village.

Owned and managed by Carmel and Oliver O'Neill this house offers cleanliness, cosiness and exquisite interior design - while on the outside, private parking and a beautifully developed garden.

Glasson VillageThe quaint village of Glasson which is replete with old world charm, is located near the eastern banks of Lough Ree. Also known as the "Village of Roses" it is at its best in summer with roses in bloom but even in winter it has hostelries where one can spend many a happy hour. Within walking distance are three award-winning restaurants.

Oliver GoldsmithGlasson is also a major player in Westmeath's celebrated "Goldsmith Country" and was the subject of Oliver Goldsmith's poem "The Deserted Village".

Less than 2 miles from Glasson at Kilkenny West is a hill regarded as the geographical centre of Ireland and topped by a round domed tower - known as the Pinnacle - built in 1769.

Glasson is situated close to Lough Ree which is a haven for fishing, The Pinnacleboating and sailing, in fact Lough Ree Yacht Club founded in 1770 is the second oldest yacht club in the world.

There is something for everyone on the established walks around Glasson, whether you simply want to enjoy the beauty of nature or find subjects for photography you will not be disappointed. There is an ample scope for the artist, the antiquarian or the wild flower enthusiast to explore the lakeshore and be well rewarded for time spent.
